This piece of jewelry takes us on the Vikings' journeys along with the compass – a wooden disc believed to be the key to the Vikings' fabulous navigational skills. The compass was a simple yet advanced tool that helped sailors find their direction by the position of the sun – a symbol of both travel and inner compass.
The earrings are approximately 5-6 cm long. Under the dial hangs a beautiful rusty red stone of pictorial jasper. Red jasper has been a popular gemstone for centuries because of its natural beauty. Jasper belongs to the mineral class chalcedony, which is a variant of the quartz family. Red jasper is said to have protective and healing properties.
Handcrafted in sterling silver, the piece features a raw, textured surface and dark patina in the engraved lines, elegantly highlighting the characteristic serrations. The semicircular design hugs the earlobe, creating a powerful yet stylish expression with historical depth.

The designer behind
As a jewelry designer, Therese Følsgaard never tires of finding inspiration everywhere around her. She was introduced to the colorful worlds of art and architecture as a child. These are today a fundamental part of her inner DNA. Cubism and the abstract in particular offer many fantastic forms to work with. However, nature is also close to her heart; a result of growing up in the countryside.
